a. Titleholders

Ms. Senior Alabama 2025-2026: The winner (ages 60 – 69) of Ms. Senior Alabama 2025 and the winner of Ms. Super Senior Alabama 2025-2026 (ages 70-79) will be awarded $1000 each, to be paid directly to the Ms. Senior World, or the national pageant of the delegate's choosing. The national pageant must be held after completion of the one year reign of the 2025 titleholders. Participation in the national pageant, including wearing their sash and crown, will not be allowed until after the Ms. Senior Alabama 2026 pageant. The reign of Ms. Senior Alabama titleholders and contractual agreement is from the time of crowning of the current pageant until crowning of the following pageant. If the titleholders do not wish to participate in a national pageant, the funds for national registration fees will not be awarded. The $1000 payment for the Ms. Senior Alabama titleholder and Ms. Super Senior Alabama titleholder is the full amount that will be paid to participation in a national pageant. All expenses for a national pageant beyond the $1000 paid by MSA, Inc. are not the responsibility of MSA, Inc., and are paid by the delegate going to the national pageant (expenses beyond the $1000 may include registration fees, photos, clothing, shoes, accessories, program book, travel, lodging, food, and any other expenses needed for participation of said national pageant.)

A separate contract will be provided with more details regarding rules and guidelines of the winners and will be signed by the winners and Chairman of the Board of Directors after the pageant closes in 2025.

b.Reign and Commitment

If I win the title of Ms. Senior Alabama or Ms. Super Senior Alabama 2025, I understand that I am to serve until the MSA pageant 2026, with Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc. and am not allowed to enter other pageants until after I crown a new titleholder the following year in 2026. I also understand that it is my choice whether to enter a national pageant after my one year reign, and that MSA, Inc. will pay a stipend toward my registration fee of the national pageant of my choice. All other expenses of the national pageant will be paid by me or a sponsor that I secure to aid in expenses.

c.Purpose of MSA, Inc and Relationship with Other Pageants

Purpose of Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc., and relationship with ALL other pageant systems other than Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc.: Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc. is not under contract or agreement with any other pageant system, whether preliminary, national, state, online, or otherwise. As a titleholder or runner up of Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc., I may not enter other pageants from the point of registration for the 2025 MSA pageant through the date of the Ms. Senior Alabama pageant of the following year. As a non-titleholder or non-runner up, I may not enter other pageants from the point of registration for the 2025 MSA pageant through the date of the MSA live workshop of the following year. Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc. promotes community outreach and involvement, encourages women ages 60 and above that each has a purpose and place in the community, and provides a network of sisterhood for women across the state for emotional support and to promote the platform and passions of each delegate. MSA, Inc. seeks to only recruit women who desire to participate in the Ms. Senior Alabama pageant, participate in community events as per listed in this contract, and who seek to join the sisterhood of women of MSA, Inc. We ask that applicants do not accept registration from Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc. unless willing to follow these contractual guidelines, join our purpose, and who will not dissolve their contract to join other pageant systems during the contractual time period. If planning to participate in other pageant systems, we ask that you do so before or after signing a contract with Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc. If dissolving a contract with Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc. delegates relinquish participation in all MSA, Inc. events and photos wearing sashes and crowns given by MSA, Inc. Participation and communication through Group Me ends upon the date of the live workshop of the following year, unless a delegate becomes an official MSA volunteer approved by the Board of Directors, official MSA Queen Coach, or MSA, Inc. member of the Board of Directors. All delegates of the previous year are removed from MSA Group Me accounts upon the date of the pageant of the following year.

d.Contract

I fully and completely understand by entering into a contract as a delegate with Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc. the above statement regarding my participation with MSA, Inc. and agree not to dissolve my contract to enter another pageant system until the time my contract ends, which is from the time of the workshop February 2025 - workshop in 2026. I will only dissolve my contract due to emergency situations and will communicate in writing to the Chairman of the Board of Directors in such a situation. I will not register or enter any other pageant system during my time under contract with Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc.. Titleholders may not enter other pageants until after the date of the Ms. Senior Alabama pageant of the following year. Delegates are released to enter other pageants upon the date of the MSA live workshop of the following year.

e.Runners Up

Runners Up & Delegate Positions:  If I am awarded 1st Runner Up to Ms. Senior Alabama or Ms. Super Senior Alabama, I understand that if the titleholders cannot fulfill her duties, I will be required to accept the title of Ms. Senior Alabama 2025 or Ms. Super Senior Alabama 2025 unless medically unable to do so. I will be under contract with MSA, and will not enter other pageant systems until after the MSA 2026 pageant, in order to take the MSA title in the event the titleholder cannot fulfill her duties. If I am awarded 2nd-4th Runners Up positions, I understand responsibilities are moved to the next delegate in line if the person in the position ahead of me is unable to fulfill their duties for any reason. 2nd-4th Runners Up positions are under contract from February 2025 Workshop - the MSA 2026 Workshop.

f.Other Pageants

I understand that I may not enter Ms. Senior World, or another pageant system while holding my position with Ms. Senor Alabama (whether runner up or delegate with a title of a certain area) unless choosing to relinquish my title with Ms. Senior Alabama to enter another pageant organization. All delegates are awarded titles upon registration and under contract to the Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc. organization to promote Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc., and serve in their communities until the date of the Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc. pageant of the following year. See paragraph above regarding other pageant systems.

g.Sponsorships and People's Choice

Sponsors and People's Choice: I understand that it is a suggested goal to have sponsors totaling the amount of $500 for ads/listings in the Ms. Senior Alabama 2025 Program Book, and $250 of the $500 is required for me to obtain sponsorships. I understand the $250 may be paid by outside sponsors or by me. I also understand that People's Choice is a fundraiser to cover expenses of Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc. and to donate funds to a nonprofit organization benefiting other women, and or children, as chosen by the Ms. Senior Alabama Board of Directors each year. It is my responsibility to share the People's Choice voting opportunity with my friends and family and strive to reach the suggested goal of $300 of People's Choice votes (votes are $5.00 each.) I may vote for myself for People's Choice. I may have sponsors to cover my expenses for registration, clothing, travel, and lodging for participation in MSA, Inc.

h.Media

Media: I understand I am required to have the GroupMe app, an email address, and the ability to check these communication venues, as well as the ability to log into virtual meetings and practice with videos which may be provided to me for opening and closing numbers. All MSA related events are communicated through Group Me.

i.Appearances, Events, and Interviews

As a delegate of Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc., it is required that I participate in at least 3 appearances, events, and/or interviews from the point of registration until registration of the next year. I understand that all appearances, events, and interviews must be communicated and approved by Kim Crawford Meeks, Chair of the Board of Directors and/or Dana Self, Community Ambassador, North AL, or Gloria Williams, Community Ambassador South AL, of the Board of Directors. I also understand that I am required to invite my fellow delegates to these occasions via the GroupMe messaging venue. For MSA events, I must always have my MSA sash on hand and also make efforts to promote MSA and encourage other women to enter the MSA, Inc. system as a delegate, volunteer, or sponsor. The website for MSA, Inc., mssenioralabama.com, and date of the pageant of the following year, must always be given in interviews. MSA is a state organization. The required number of appearances and events may be in a delegate's own area of the state of Alabama or in the area of a sister queen. All queens are highly encouraged to plan, organize, and manage at least 1 of the 3 required events.

j.Event Requirement of Titleholders

As a titleholder of Ms. Senior Alabama and Ms. Super Senior Alabama, I am required to participate in at least 6 appearances, events, and/or interviews from the point of being awarded the title until the pageant of the next year. All of my appearances, events, and/or interviews will also be communicated and need approval by Kim Crawford Meeks, Chair of the Board of Directors, and/or Dana Self, Community Ambassador North AL, or Gloria Williams, Community Ambassador South AL, of the Board of Directors. As a titleholder, I am required to invite my fellow queens to at least 3 of the 6 events during my reign. I understand that appearances, events, and interviews are not my opportunity to promote my own religious or political beliefs. I may promote a nonprofit as approved by the Ms. Senior Alabama Board of Directors, community events, volunteerism, and encourage other women that they have a purpose and place in their communities. The required number of appearances and events may be in a titleholder's own area of the state of Alabama or in the area of a sister queen. Both titleholders are required to plan, organize, and manage at least 1 of the 6 required events.

k.Behavior:

I understand as a delegate of Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc., that bullying, slander, rudeness, hateful behavior, sexually explicit behavior or conversation, will not be tolerated. The Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc. Board of Directors reserves the right to dismiss any delegate or remove the title of any titleholder at any time for any of the above behaviors, or behavior similar to the said above, and without explanation. Any delegate posting (or threatening to post or send) slanderous or negative communication,  posting issues or problems on social media, or through any means of public communication, and/or verbally slandering or voicing issues about MSA, Inc, fellow delegates, board members, volunteers, or anyone affiliated with MSA, Inc. breaks this contract and immediately forfeits title, sash, crown, and participation in all MSA, Inc. related activities and events. Any family member communicating with, harassing, accusing, or threatening a Ms. Senior Alabama Board Member or delegate, will be reported to the delegate immediately. The Ms. Senior Alabama Board of Directors is not under contract with any family member or friend of a delegate, nor will we communicate with anyone other than our delegates who are under contract or title of Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc. The Board of Directors will not tolerate slander, or threats of slander or bodily harm and proper legal action will be taken for any type of threat. All issues and concerns should be reported to a member of the MSA Board of Directors immediately for assistance. The MSA, Inc.

l.Biography Forms

Biography forms are due March 16, 2025. Do not submit this form until after the live workshop on February 13-16, 2025. Stage Introduction Forms are due April 16, 2025. I understand that the script will not be changed at the pageant or after Forms are due.

m.Backstage & Dressing Rooms

As a delegate of Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc., I understand that I must have all outfits on hangers and ready to wear. It helps to organize each outfit by putting all items together for that outfit. I should place jewelry in a bag and hang it on the hanger with the appropriate outfit and organize it in this manner for traveling and when setting up in the dressing room. When I arrive at the venue, I will check into my hotel room. I will then leave my outfits for Queen's Dinner, Interview with the Judges, pajamas and personal items in the room. I will take these outfits: evening gown, opening number, active lifestyle, and fashion runway to the dressing room and hang them together on the rack near my assigned table, along with any personal items and accessories needed in the dressing room.. Again, I will keep all elements of each outfit together.

n. Dressing Rooms

The dressing rooms are full of many items. It is my responsibility as a delegate to organize and manage my outfits, shoes, and accessories. Other delegates are not allowed to help me to find lost items or organize my items because asking other delegates to take care of me takes time away from them. We will have dressing room attendants to help with things like zipping zippers and to keep up with the schedule, but they are not allowed to organize my personal items. My family members and friends are not allowed in the dressing rooms during set up, rehearsals, pageants, or after the pageant. I will wear something appropriate but comfortable to rehearsal on Friday. I must clean my area in the dressing room before leaving (throw away trash, take all personal belongings with me.) Dressing rooms are large rooms with all delegates together. (If needing privacy to change, please bring a dark sheet and an attendant can hold it up if available. Attendants are shared by other delegates and must give equal time to each.)

o.Stylists and Make Up Artists

If I have a hairdresser, they may style my hair in my hotel room before my checkout time. Room for hair stylists in the dressing rooms is not provided, unless hair stylists are contracted by MSA and will be allowed in a designated area.

p.Check Out Time

If I'm not staying Saturday night, I will be required to check out of my hotel room by hotel check-out time on Saturday. My personal belongings that I do not need in the dressing room will need to be taken by me or a family member/friend of mine to my vehicle or held at the hotel desk, as arranged by me. I will not bring all of my belongings from the room to the dressing room.

q.Family & Friends at the Pageant

Family and friends are not allowed in the dressing rooms at any time during Ms. Senior Alabama events. If my family member is my designated stylist or make-up artist, they may assist me in my hotel room before time to be in the dressing room for the pageant, or assist me in a designated area as chosen by Backstage Director. I will communicate to my family and friends that noisemakers are NOT allowed at the pageant or Queen’s Dinner. If they are used, they will be taken away until after the event. Family and friends are not allowed on the stage also. Allowing family and friends into private areas or on the stage could result in dissolution of my contract.

r.Queen's Dinner

(Thursday night before pageant): This is a meet and greet dinner the night before the pageant. The pageant will sponsor this dinner at no extra cost to delegates. I understand that Queen's Dinner is a closed event and no guests are allowed. I will plan to wear a cocktail dress, jumpsuit, or evening wear pants/top in the designated color chosen by the MSA, Inc. Board of Directors. I may wear a long evening gown, but I do not need to feel this is necessary and add unnecessary expense to my budget. The members of the Board of Directors and a photographer may attend. The judges will not be at the dinner. I will be asked to stand and introduce myself. Sashes and crowns are required at the dinner. Also, MSA, Inc. does not allow or promote outfits with cutouts in the stomach, skirts and shorts that are too short and revealing, or outfits that show too much cleavage.

s.Hotel/Lodging for the Live Retreat/Workshop, Rehearsal Days, and Pageant

I understand that my $750 Registration fee includes the live workshop/retreat at Beckwith Camp and Conference Center, Feb. 13-16, 2025, and includes my meeting spaces, lodging, meals, snacks, crown, sash, sash bag, tshirt, coaching, and professional photo at the retreat.

I also understand that the $750 fee includes a welcome luncheon, virtual meetings, coaching, Queen's Dinner and pageant venue, production, awards, and all associated pageant fees for the production June 7, 2025 pageant at the Daphne Civic Center in Daphne, AL.

I understand that Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc. has secured a discount rate for delegates for the pageant, and rehearsals and that hotel rooms June 5-7th 2025 are booked and paid for by the delegate and not covered by the $750 fee. The MSA, Inc. Board of Directors highly recommends staying at the hotel as chosen by the Board of Directors. It is not required to stay at the hotel, but I understand that a hotel is chosen in close proximity to the pageant and workshop venue for the delegates convenience in arriving for all planned events. If I do not stay at the designated hotels as chosen by the Board of Directors, I understand it is my responsibility to arrive at all planned events on time. If late for interview with the judges, there is not a time to make up this interview and score will be zero for this portion of competition missed. Delegates may not ask to stay at another delegates home during the rehearsal/pageant days. Delegates may share hotel rooms.

I also understand that the fee does not cover clothing, shoes, and accessories, which are paid by delegates.

t.Interview with Judges (Saturday morning before pageant)

I will wear something that I would wear to a job interview or would wear if invited to be a keynote speaker. Suits, whether slacks or a skirt, with a jacket are great for this interview. I may also wear a dress. I will be sure I am able to comfortably sit down. I will look at myself or have someone make my picture sitting in the outfit to assure it is appropriate. I will think about my jewelry and shoes I wear with this outfit. I will enhance with jewelry and shoes but do not go overboard. I will remember to stay business minded when planning for the interview. Sleeveless outfits are not allowed for interview. This is my first impression with the judges! I will not wear crowns and sashes to the interview. If my leg shows through a slit, due to length, or for any reason, I will wear hose or tights. I will not wear a sleeveless outfit.

u.Opening Number

An outfit, of a chosen color will be designated by the Board of Directors, and only that color is allowed for the opening number. This may be a dress, jumpsuit, or pantsuit, but no evening gowns or long dresses. Wear something stylish. Be sure you can walk, move, and dance in the outfit you choose. For opening number, be sure you are able to walk up and down steps, around the stage, and perform simple dance movements in them. The routine will be taught to you at the live retreat/workshop event. You will rehearse several times the day before the pageant also. If you wear another color with your outfit other than the required color, you will not participate in the opening number. If my leg shows through a slit, due to length, or for any reason, I will wear hose or tights. Also, MSA, Inc. does not allow or promote outfits with cutouts in the stomach, skirts and shorts that are too short and revealing, or outfits that show too much cleavage.

v.Active Lifestyle

This outfit should represent my more casual side. It should state what I do to stay active mentally or physically. I may play tennis or golf, travel, exercise, dance, write, sing, paint, do puzzles, etc. Therefore, go with something you do and love. The outfit may be any color. I will be allowed to carry one (1) prop. Example: if I play tennis, I may carry a tennis racket. The prop must be something I am able to carry on and off stage without assistance and requires no setup. If I need help deciding on active wear, call Kim Crawford-Meeks at 205-381-6767, and she or one of the board members will assist you. I understand that swimsuits are not allowed in Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc. Also, MSA, Inc. does not allow or promote outfits with cutouts in the stomach, skirts and shorts that are too short and revealing, or outfits that show too much cleavage. If my leg shows through a slit, due to length, or for any reason, I will wear hose or tights.

w.Fashion Runway

I will show off my modeling ability with this outfit. I will think of models walking and showing off their outfits in runway fashion shows. I may wear a jumpsuit with a train, cocktail dress with a train, dress of any length, or pants outfits with sequins/rhinestones. I understand that no evening gowns are allowed for this outfit, but dresses may be floor length maxi-dresses. This outfit may be any color. For Fashion Runway, think more fashion model, trendy, flowy, super stylish, and fun. A Fashion Runway outfit might have a large bow, train, drape, flower, or cape. It could have feathers or different textures, perhaps even a print, polka dot or stripe. If my leg shows through a slit or for any reason, I will wear hose or tights. Also, MSA, Inc. does not allow or promote outfits with cutouts in the stomach, skirts and shorts that are too short and revealing, or outfits that show too much cleavage.

x.Elegance & Inner Beauty (Evening Gown worn in this portion) with On-Stage Question

This is my chance to be glamorous. My dress should be long, elegant and sophisticated. I will wear shoes I can walk and stand in. Most delegates wear dresses with lots of sparkles or beads. Wear something that picks up the lighting and not a stripe, print, plaid, or floral for this category. I will be mindful that I will be wearing my evening gown for the closing number, therefore I need to be able to hold my arms out freely. If I plan to wear high heels, I will practice walking around the house in them and up and down stairs. I will not buy new shoes and wear them the first time on the day of the pageant. If my legs show through a slit or at all, I will wear hose or tights. Also, MSA, Inc. does not allow or promote outfits with cutouts in the stomach, skirts and shorts that are too short and revealing, or outfits that show too much cleavage. â€‹

My evening gown must not require being held up when walking around the stage. I must have my outfits altered to an appropriate length for walking without tripping or holding them. If I bring an evening gown or outfit to the pageant that I have to hold, or trips me when walking on the stage, I will be required to pin the dress, or change outfits. My evening gown may have a train, cape, bow, beading, sequins, feathers, and be of any material other than material that is transparent and skin and/or private body parts may be seen through the material. I will model my evening gown and then approach the microphone for my question. After answering the question, I will step back for a final pose, then exit the stage. This is my chance to be glamorous, show my personality, and demonstrate my ability to answer questions and speak publicly.

y.Philosophy of Life

I understand that I am required to verbally present my philosophy of life which will be 30 - 45 seconds in length and recorded at the live workshop, placed on the Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc. website, social media, and YouTube channel, will be given to the judges for scoring, and will be shown at the pageant. The philosophy of life will be scored by the judges as part of overall scoring for the pageant. I may read my philosophy of life in the recording, but it is highly recommended to memorize it, and to speak naturally from your heart. The philosophy of life should express my purpose, passion, and/or platform. If quoting someone, I must give the author’s name in my philosophy. If my philosophy is longer than 30-45 seconds, the Board of Directors reserves the right to shorten. Political beliefs may not be included in the philosophy statement. I will wear a business/professional outfit for the Philosophy of Life recording, as described in the interview portion of this contract.

z.Crowns and Sashes

Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc. will provide a sash and crown, with MSA, Inc. Board approved title, to wear as instructed throughout the contractual period. Delegates/queens may not wear crowns/sashes of other pageant systems, or crowns and sashes they have personally been given or have purchased, during their contractual period or at any time at a Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc. event or photo.
